During this period she contributed to over 100 periodicals and publications, including several magazine front covers and a series of commissioned Performing Arts & Celebrity Portraits.
In recent years, Wendy has continued to specialise in portraiture but has also followed her passion for travel photography and pictures of nature & the countryside . She has also returned to Broadway Studio, where it all began, to take over the reigns from David and expand the remit of the studio.
David Sherwill
With a keen interest in photography from an early age, David joined the Reading Camera club in 1962, after a career in the RAF. His mentor was Cecil Blay FRPS; a brilliant portraitist, and when in 1964 David won the Gilt medal for portraiture with Cecil as runner-up he decided that he would work towards turning professional. In 1975 David moved to Broadstone, Dorset and founded Broadway Studio gaining a Licentiateship qualification of the British Institute of Professional Photography 6 years later.
In 1994 David was awarded an Associate Diploma by the Royal Photographic Society for portraiture and in the following year he achieved the Associate qualification with the Master Photographers Association in the same discipline.
1994 also saw David winning Kodak, and MPA Cherub Photographer of the Year. For many years, David has played a key role in the Bournemouth Photographic Society and has become a tutor for the Open College of the Arts and the School of Photography; running one to one courses and mentoring.
Now in semi-retirement, David continues to provide Broadway Studio with Photographic Consultancy services, while helping amateur and fledging photographers around the world with help, advice and tutorage.
